I have a confession. I once drove 25 minutes to Texas Roadhouse at noon on a Tuesday, absolutely starving, only to find the doors locked and the parking lot empty. That was the day I learned that Texas Roadhouse hours are not what you expect. This place runs on its own schedule, and if you do not know it, you will end up sad in a parking lot like I was. Here is the full breakdown of Texas Roadhouse hours, when they serve lunch, and the best times to go.
Texas Roadhouse Hours: The Weekly Schedule
Here are the typical Texas Roadhouse hours, verified October 2026. These are the most common hours across the country, but they do vary by location, so always confirm with your local store.
| Day | Hours | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 3 PM to 10 PM | Dinner only, no lunch |
| Tuesday | 3 PM to 10 PM | Dinner only, no lunch |
| Wednesday | 3 PM to 10 PM | Dinner only, no lunch |
| Thursday | 3 PM to 10 PM | Dinner only, no lunch |
| Friday | 11 AM to 11 PM | Lunch from 11 AM |

| Sunday | 11 AM to 10 PM | Lunch from 11 AM, closes earlier |
A few locations open at 4 PM instead of 3 PM on weekdays, and Sunday closing can be 9 PM at some stores. The pattern is consistent though: weekdays are dinner only, weekends add lunch.
What Time Does Texas Roadhouse Open?
On weekdays, Texas Roadhouse typically opens at 3 PM. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, doors open at 11 AM. This is the single most important thing to know. If you are craving a steak at 1 PM on a Wednesday, you are out of luck at most locations. The kitchen spends weekday mornings and early afternoons prepping: cutting steaks by hand, baking rolls, making sides from scratch. It is a dinner-first operation, and honestly the food is better for it.
When Is Texas Roadhouse Least Busy?
Monday through Wednesday evenings are the sweet spot. Short waits, relaxed vibe, same great food. The Early Dine window, 3 to 5 PM on weekdays, is golden: discounted menu plus no crowd. Friday after 5:30 PM is the crush, and weekend dinners can mean a serious wait. Valentine’s Day is famously the busiest night of the year, and Mother’s Day is a close second. For those, join the waitlist on the app before you leave home. It makes a huge difference.
Does Texas Roadhouse Take Reservations?
Texas Roadhouse does not take traditional reservations, but they do have call-ahead seating and an app waitlist. You can put your name on the waitlist through the Texas Roadhouse app before you arrive, which cuts your lobby wait dramatically. It is not a guaranteed table time, but on a busy Friday night it is the difference between a 20-minute wait and a 90-minute one. Use it.
Can You Order Takeout After Closing Time?
Online ordering usually shuts off about 30 minutes before the restaurant closes, so do not try to sneak in a last-minute order at 9:55 PM. Curbside pickup follows the same cutoff. If you are cutting it close, call the store directly, they will tell you straight up whether the kitchen can still fire your order.
